This resource is a non-fiction comprehension activity for year 2. The comprehension is all about why we celebrate Shrove Tuesday and what it involves.
The booklets are based on the KS1 SATs reading paper. I have included 3 differentiated levels and answers. There are a range of ‘what,’ ‘where,’ ‘why,’ ‘how’ and ‘when’ questions, some multiple choice tick questions and some that require more detailed answers. The activity is also laid out in a similar way to the SATs booklets, with four pages of pictures and short written extracts to read and 2-3 questions per page.

This is a lesson plan and resources for a beginner’s Spanish lesson to use with KS2. It involves children learning the vocabulary for ‘Happy Christmas,’ as well as six decorations in Spanish.
The plan gives details of a whole class game to use as a starter, how to teach the vocabulary, a paired reading activity, whole class listening activity, a writing activity and plenary. It is highly interactive and allows children to practise a range of language skills.
